The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy did not step out to campaign for his party candidates in the recent municipal elections but his party YSRC swept the polls by a huge margin.
Now, the big question is, will Jagan campaign for his party candidate in Tirupati by-election?
YSRCP has already announced Gurumurthy as its candidate for Tirupati by-election and the party bigwigs including Kusarala Kannababu, and Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy have started campaigning for the former.
YSRCP forces are confident about sweeping the polls even if Jagan does not campaign for Gurumurthy.
If Gurumurthy manages to win the election even without Jagan’s campaigning, it would be a clear cut indication that the common public in the state is clearly behind Jagan. It would prove his mass following as well.
