There has been some uncertainty pertaining to MPTC and ZPTC elections in Andhra Pradesh after the high court momentarily halted the election process, citing the lack of election code as the reason.
Today, the high court called for the final hearing on the MPTC and ZPTC elections and passed the judgment on the same.
The high court of Andhra Pradesh permitted the scheduled MPTC and ZPTC elections. The elections will be commencing tomorrow as per schedule.
As one would expect, YSRCP is the clear-cut favorite to sweep the polls, and the fact that TDP is boycotting the elections will make very little to no difference.
However, a few TDP rebels are contesting in the elections on party symbol as they decided to sideline Chandrababu’s orders.
