The political parties in Andhra Pradesh have been categorized on the basis of their supporters. It is widely known that Reddy community supported Congress during Rajasekhar Reddy’s reign and later shifted to YSRCP. On the other hand, Kamma community has been a loyal base for TDP right from the day of its establishment.
Of late, YSRCP found it really tough to lure Kamma community to shift their loyalties. This hurt the party big time in the 2014 elections. However, YSRCP supremo Jagan finally managed to bring in a prominent leader from the Kamma community. Reportedly, Vijayawada based politician Yalamanchili Ravi will be joining the party on April 16th.
YSRCP leader Kodali Nani played a key role in the process and arranged a meeting between Jagan and Ravi. Incidentally, the meeting lasted for close to 6 hours and various topics came into discussion. Will YSRCP be benefitted in Vijayawada with the addition of a prominent personality? Only time will tell.
