Vijayawada MP, Ashok Gajapathi Raju is one of the senior most leaders from Andhra Pradesh. The TDP leader served as a central minister for the past 4 years in the NDA government. Ashok resigned to his post after the TDP supremo, Chandra Babu Naidu decided to quit the NDA government, saying that Andhra Pradesh is not getting enough support from the center.
Speaking at a recent event, Ashok said that YCP MPs made fake resignations to their posts during the fight for special status. He added that YCP MPs are still enjoying all the privileges as the central government did not approve their resignations. This is the proof that YCP has no real intent to fight for the state and are just trying to trick the people into thinking that the party is actually fighting for the public.
The interesting part is that Ashok served as central minister for 4 long years. If he knew all the while long that NDA was not offering any support to the state, why did he stay calm on the issue? He could have conveyed the happenings to CBN much earlier and added pressure on the central government by resigning to their posts well before quitting the NDA alliance.
Being a senior leader and coming from an experienced party, Ashok Gajapathi Raju and other TDP leaders had the responsibility to take the fight for SCS into their own hands. What is the use of having 40 years experience if you cannot fight for what is rightfully yours?
