It is already known that the chief minister of Goa, Manohar Parriker has been receiving medical treatment at a hospital in the USA. The BJP leader has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and shifter to the US for better treatment. Interestingly, Manohar did not quit the chief minister’s post even after coming to know that he cannot attend the assembly or stay in the CM office for a while.
Manohar assigned the administration duties to a group of 3 ministers who will be directly reporting to him. Manohar will look after every affair in the state and take the final call on any government-related decision or implementation of new schemes. This decision did not go well with the opposition parties who are now demanding a new chief minister for the state.
Congress party leaders have started a protest, saying that the state cannot show progress if the chief minister is staying in another country. They are demanding the BJP high command to remove the administrative group and assign a new chief minister to the state. With BJP president, Amit Shah set out to visit Goa soon, the Congress party leaders have intensified their protest.
