Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Nara Chandra Babu Naidu made some interesting comments on 2014 elections. He said that TDP did not gain any public support or political mileage by taking BJP’s support.
Interestingly, Naidu forced the NDA alliance during 2014 elections as he believed Modi wave can help TDP. As expected, The TDP-BJP alliance came to power in Andhra Pradesh after they promised special category status to the state.
However, these parties failed to live up to their word and had to face the wrath of the public. With nothing much to do, TDP called back their union ministers, Ashok Gajapathi Raju and YS Chowdary after serving for 4 years.
With all the high drama going on, CBN said that TDP won the elections with their own charisma and following. Well, these statements may draw mixed response as he was the one who pressurized BJP to form the alliance in the start. Changing words when a crisis arises is not the right approach for any political party.
It would be interesting to watch BJP’s reaction on the issue.
