Update: Senior ‘Kapu’ leader will join YCP

Bharatiya Janata Party is set to lose a key leader in Andhra Pradesh. As per reports, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana cut his ties with the party and resigned to his post yesterday.

The buzz is that the senior Kapu leader will soon be joining YSRCP after Jagan promised him a parliamentary ticket. Other sources said that Jagan has offered Kanna another MLA ticket that he can allot for any of his close aides.

With the addition of a prominent Kapu leader from Vijayawada, YSRCP’s chances of making it big in the constituency have been strengthened. It needs to be admitted that Jagan has been making the right decision by bringing in senior leaders to the party. Lack of experience and lackluster planning cost the party in 2014 elections and Jagan is surely learning from his mistakes.

It would be interesting to watch if all this experience from the senior leaders can come in handy for the party during the 2019 elections.
