Congress party senior leader, Shashi Tharoor, has been charged with abetting his wife, Sunanda Pushkar’s suicide by Delhi police. The incident took place back in 17th January 2014 and was one of the most talked about incidents all over the country. This incident gained a lot of heat as Sunanda was found dead at a luxury suite after she publicly accused Shashi Tharoor of having illegal affair with a journalist from Pakistan.
The Delhi police initially registered the case as a murder as the reporting hospital declared that she was poisoned to death. The charge sheet that was submitted to the Delhi court read Shahi Tharoor as accused in the case. However, Shashi Tharoor denied his involvement in the suicide and claimed that it was a political conspiracy from the BJP.
The latest news is that the Delhi police department has submitted a new charge sheet to the Delhi court and accused Shashi Tharoor of abetting Sunanda’s suicide. This indicates that Shashi Tharoor pressurized or aided Sunanda to commit suicide at a luxury suite in Delhi.
Reacting to the developments, Shashi bashed the Delhi police for their investigation procedure over the past 4 years. He added that anyone who knew Sunanda cannot believe she committed suicide, let alone his involvement in the process. He concluded that law officer stated there was no involvement of anyone in the case, but is saying that I abetted the suicide all of a sudden.
