Ready to unite with opposition parties

After a tense political drama in Karnataka that lead to the resignation of BJP’s BS Yeddyurappa, Congress President Rahul Gandhi announced that he would unite with the opposition parties if it helped them defeat BJP.

Speaking to the media after Yeddy’s resignation he said, “I am very glad that the opposition parties came together to defeat the BJP and will continue to do so.” The Congress tied up with JDS to win over the largest majority holding BJP.

The shrewd moves of the allied parties helped them dethrone the BJP in Karnataka whom they alleged to be democracy-destroyers. The whole issue surrounding the Karnataka elections seems to be more and more a tussle between political parties rather than a war for the welfare of its people.
