Review : Officer – RGV disappoints again

Nagarjuna starrer Officer, directed by RGV, has been in news from the day of its announcement. With a decent buzz among the trade circles, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Shivaji Rao (Nagarjuna) a tough IPS officer will be appointed as a SIT investigative officer to unlock the truth behind fake encounters in Mumbai. On the other hand, Narayan Pasari yet another crime branch officer tries to attack Shivaji with his gang. Who is Narayan Pasari why he tries to attcak Shivaji? What is the conflict point between Shivaji and Pasari? To known this, you have to watch the film in the theaters near you.

Analysis:

Ace director Ram Gopal varma, who is known for his one- of- a- kind film making has comeup with yet another unique cop thriller which deals with the darkside of the police department. Though his storyline is good and has a decent first half, things get off track which come clumsy narration in latter half. Acting wise, Nag is best at looks and gave a impressive performance as a tough police cop. Guy who protrayed grey shaded Narayan Pasari role is also okay and apt for the role. Lead lady Myra Sareen is just about okay as a crime branch DCP. Ajay, Sayaji Shinde and other actors who did small role did justice to their job.

Plus Points:

  • Basic plot
  • Background score

Minus Points:

  • Direction
  • Diluted second half

Verdict:

All in all, RGV’s Officer has a decent storyline which exposes the dark side of police big wings. Though the first half of the film is okay with some intense scenes here and there, the latter half completely gets sidetracked making it a horrible watch.
