Koratala Siva is undoubtedly one of the most successful director’s of this generation. He made his debut with Mirchi and scored a solid blockbuster with a star hero like Prabhas. His second movie, Srimanthudu turned out to be a money spinner at the box office and rewrote many pre-existing records. Similarly, Jantha garage received a huge applause for its social message and engaging narration.
One common point in all these movies is that the core plot revolves around the male lead. It needs to be said that heroines in Koratala’s movies have very little prominence. If we observe, Richa Gangopadhyay and Anushka had very little screen presence in Mirchi. The same thing happened with Shruthi Hassan as she was seen only in songs and it was Mahesh’s show all the way. Coming to Janatha Garage, Nithya Menon and Samantha had just above normal screen presence and impressed to an extent.
Everyone expected Koratala to set things right after the makers roped in Bollywood beauty Kiara Advani for Bharath Ane Nenu. The buzz is that DVV entertainments had to shell out 1.25 crores to make Kiara sign on the dotted lines. With so much money spent on the lady lead, everyone expected Kiara would be seen in a meaty role. To everyone’s surprise, Koratala Siva disappointed for the fourth consecutive time by offering very little prominence to the heroine.
With that being said, Koratala is making meaningful movies that raise a thought or two in the minds of the viewers and that is more important than glamour show of heroines, opine moviegoers.
