Jagan scored 5/34 in 2014, what about 2019?

Andhra Pradesh opposition leader, YS Jagan put up a decent show during the 2014 elections despite the fact that a strong alliance(TDP-BJP-Pawan Kalyan) worked against him. The young leader’s YCP conquered a total of 66 MLA seats in Andhra Pradesh and 4 MLA seats in Telangana.

The situation would have been totally different if Jagan prepared a proper political strategy to attract voters in East and West Godavari districts. YCP could manage only 5 MLA seats out of 34 seats in these constituencies and that showed adverse effects on the party’s winning chances.

Going by the latest trends, Jagan received a rousing response in East and West Godavari districts during his Pada Yatra. If yesterday’s crowds that welcomed Jagan to East Godavari are anything to go by, it looks like the YCP chief has attained a lot of following in this region.

If Jagan can keep up the momentum until 2019 general elections and register decent numbers in Uttarandhra region, the odds of him making it to power will be slashed heavily.
