Andhra Pradesh opposition party, YSRCP has started the preparations for 2019 general elections. YS Jagan has taken the MLA and MP ticket allotment procedure very seriously and making sure that he does not take things on a lighter note like he did during 2014 elections. Apparently, Jagan has started finalizing candidates for contesting against TDP big shots.
A while ago, there were rumors that YCP senior leader Vijay Sai Reddy will be contesting against Chandra Babu from Kuppam constituency. The latest news is that Jagan has finalized the Guntur MP candidate to contest against Mahesh’s brother in law, Galla Jaya Dev. Galla has been raising his voice against Jagan and Pawan Kalyan over the special status issue and made some hard ditting comments that they are working under Modi’s commands.
Reportedly, Jagan has chosen the son of Vignan university chairman, Lavu Rathaiah, Sri Krishna Devaraya to contest against Galla in 2019 elections. During his Pada Yatra in Guntur district, Jagan highlighted Sri Krishna Devaraya as a young and aspiring leader for the party. Jagan seems to be believing that using a young and well-educated leader against Galla Jaya Dev can yield great results for YCP.
However, there is no official confirmation from the party high command, but core level leaders are confident that Sri Krishna Devaraya will get the Guntur MP ticket. This makes things interesting as Jagan is using a young leader against a seasoned campaigner.
