Review : Chal Mohan Ranga – Routine But Entertaining

Young hero Nithiin, who is desperately waiting for a solid hit has come up with yet another film called Chal Mohan Ranga. As this film is his silver jubilee film, Nithiin has pinned hopes on this romantic drama which is directed by Krishna Chaitanya. Let’s see whether the film fulfills his desire or not.

Story:

Nithiin(Mohan Ranga), who gets separated from his childhood crush (Mega Akash) finds out that she was in America and tries hard to reach her. He somehow manages and finally enters the US but when things are about to turn his favor Megha returns back to India. In search of his love interest, Mohan Ranga also returns back to India and when he was about to express his love a twist in the tale araises. Why will Megha return back to Indian all of sudden? What is that twist in the tale? What kind of problems will this love couple face in the meantime? Will they both reunion finally? To know this you have to watch the film on the silver screen.

Performances:

One of the plus points of the film is hero Nithin himself. Roles like these are a cakewalk for him, and he impresses with his simple yet stylish dances in Vaaram song.His comedy timing and decent emotions showcased in the second half are good. Heroine Megha Akash is yet another plus for the film. She looks good in both Indian and western looks and performs her important role quite convincingly. Noted actor Rao Ramesh did a decent job in his given role. Prabahs Sreenu and Madhunandan tried to evoke a few laughs in the first half. Khaidi No150 spoof episode which comes in the second half is hilarious.

Minus Points:

  • Lack of proper depth in the love story
  • Predictable proceedings

Verdict:

All in all, Chal Mohan Ranga is a simple yet decent love story which works mainly for it entertaining narration. Though the second half of the film has some hilarious comedy stuff, lack of proper depth in the love story and predictable plot may not appeal to a section of the audience. If you are okay with above-mentioned flaws, Chal Mohan Ranga will end up as a passable flick for this weekend.
