BJP is the best alternate for TRS: Dattatreya

Former union minister and Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday said he had no aspirations to become Governor of any State.

Speaking to media persons after attending a programme in Warangal, Dattatreya said he had no plans to retire from active politics and he would contest the elections in 2019. He said that the BJP would emerge as the best alternate for TRS in next elections.

Dattatreya said that the credit for 24×7 power supply in Telangana goes to the BJP Government at the Centre. He said it was only due to the encouragement and cooperation of the Central Government that the Telangana was able to generate adequate energy.

The BJP leader also dismissed the allegation of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao that the Central Government was not releasing enough funds for Telangana. He said that the Centre has released Rs. 3900 crore for Mission Bhagiratha and Rs. 677 for Mission Kakatiya during the last two years. He said that the Centre would continue its support in the completion of all irrigation projects in the State.

Dattatreya refused to comment on reports of former minister Dr. Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s plans to quit BJP.
