Review : Aravindha Sametha – Emotional faction drama

Young Tiger NTR- ace director Trivikram’s mass entertainer, Aravindha Sametha is carrying a huge among the trade circles. After a wide round of promotions, the film has finally hit the screens today. Let’s check how it is.

Story:

Aravindha Sametha deals with the life story of a guy called Veera Raghava Reddy (Tarak), who tries to sort out the issues between two rival groups led by Basi Reddy( Jagapathi Babu) and Narapa Reddy (Naga Babu). Who is Veera Raghava? What is his motive behind the peace preaches? How are the women in faction families affected in this ruthless game? The answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Trivikram Srinivas, who has been stamped as a class director has chosen a rustic revenge drama set up in faction backdrop for the first time in his career. He tried to expose the dark side of the Rayalaseema faction and how it shatters the families. After a long gap, Trivikram is back with a few strong and meaningful dialogues which bring a lot of depth to the proceedings.

Coming to lead artists performance, NTR shines from the first frame to the last with his vibrant screen presence and impressive performance. His acting in a few crucial emotional scenes is outstanding and elevates the scenes in an even better way. Jagapathi Babu is the show stealer as he gets yet another memorable role to which he did cent percent justice.

Heroine Pooja Hegde gets a great role and she came up with an okay job. Noted actor Rao Ramesh is good in crisp role. Eshwari Rao, Devayani, Sithara and Supriya Pathak are apt to their roles as ladies in faction families. Thaman’s background score is top notch.

Telugu girl Eesha Rebba was wasted as she has absolutely nothing to do with the film’s plot. Comedian Sunil is not used properly and those who expect some fresh comedy from him will get disappointed.

Plus Points:

  • NTR screen presence and settled performance
  • Emotional touch in the second half and climax
  • First twenty minutes

Minus Points:

  • Routine storyline
  • Not so engaging first half
  • Lack of Trivikram mark fun

Verdict:

All in all, Aravindha Sametha is a serious faction drama which exposes the dark side of ruthless killings. NTR’s impressive performance and adrenaline-pumping action blocks are a treat to watch on screen. But on the flip side, routine plot and lack of entertainment may not go well with a section of the audience. If you are okay with above-mentioned demerits, Aravindha Sametha is an easy one time watch this festival season.
